Howard Brandstein, Executive Director
Howard has been Executive Director of Sixth Street Community Center since 1992. An organizer of the neighborhood homesteading and gardening movements in the 1970s and ’80s, he has been involved with the Center since its beginning in 1978.
Annette Averette, Program Director/Business Manager
Annette has been working with Sixth Street Community Center since 1996. As a long-time community activist and former director of the LES Anti-Displacement Project, Annette has worked tirelessly for tenants’ and women’s rights. When she’s not busy with program and finance, you can find her cooking delicious dinners in the Center’s new Organic Soul Café.
Citlalic Jeffers, CSA Coordinator
Citlalic has worked with Sixth Street Community Center for five years. She oversees all aspects of the CSA including coordinating volunteers and organizing events. She is currently completing her bachelor’s degree at Queens College.
