As a long-time community activist and the former Director of the Lower East Side Anti-Displacement Project, Annette has spent her career working tirelessly for tenant's and women's rights. Leah Smith, Associate

Picture
Leah came to Sixth Street by way of the Just Food Conference in April 2014, and is our Jack-of-all-trades. From fundraising to website design, from the newsletter, to managing the Market on CSA pick-up days, she does a little bit of everything. Leah graduated from Brandeis University in May 2013 with a B.A. in Anthropology. After a brief stint fundraising for an NGO in Haiti, Leah returned to the United States and began pursuing a career in sustainable food and food justice. When she's not at Sixth Street, you can find Leah riding her bike around the City, tending to her small potted garden, or working on one of her short stories.
